“Opportunity High” is a program tailored to provide students with opportunities that align with their learning style and lifestyle. It is specifically crafted for students who are overage and under-credit. The program offers flexible scheduling, personalized learning, hands-on work-based experiences, and individualized coaching. Opportunity High is built with every student in mind to ensure no matter the obstacles faced in a traditional classroom setting, students have the Opportunity to graduate life ready.

The purpose of Opportunity High is to catalyze transformation in the lives of over-age, under-credit students. Through a personalized and nurturing educational environment, we aim to instill academic competence, workforce skills, and emotional resilience, thereby fulfilling our broader vision of elevating the standard for equitable education and creating pathways to a thriving future.

Enrollment Information

This specialized schedule offers three distinct 3-hour sessions to accommodate the diverse needs and lifestyles of our students. Students can choose the session(s) that best fits their needs. The school operates Monday through Thursday, with in-person and virtual learning and Fridays reserved for off-campus, individualized learning experiences.

Sample Morning Schedule

Morning Session: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM

  • 9:30 – 9:40 AM: Morning Briefing

A quick gathering to provide students with an overview of the day’s agenda.

  • 9:40 – 10:25 AM: Core Academic Session 1
  • Mathematics, English, Science, or Social Studies
  • 10:25 – 10:35 AM: Transition & Quick Break
  • 10 minutes for students to stretch, hydrate, and transition to the next class.
  • 10:35 – 11:20 AM: Core Academic Session 2
  • A continuation or a new subject from the core curricula.
  • 11:20 – 11:30 AM: Transition & Quick Break
  • Another brief intermission.
  • 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM: Elective/Project-Based Learning
  • Art, Coding, Business Education, etc.
  • 12:15 – 12:30 PM: Wrap-up & Advisory
  • A recap of the day, led by the Student Life Coach or Graduation Coach.

Friday:

  • Work-Based Learning: Internships, job-shadowing, and other vocational experiences.
  • Individualized Coaching: Sessions around health, financial planning, job preparation, etc.
