Student Success Planning
Hamilton County Schools (HCS) firmly believes the success of children is a shared responsibility that should not be left to chance. As a district, we are committed to advancing robust systems of Integrated Student Supports that address academic and non-academic barriers to holistic success and create opportunities for every student in Hamilton County to thrive. Integrating strong systems of student support within schools occurs as a myriad of proactive whole-child strategies and responsive intervention structures are aligned and begin functioning together within a cohesive approach.
Student Success Planning (SSP) brings together a variety of stakeholders to champion students’ strengths, interests, and needs for the purpose of connecting students to personalized opportunities and supports. Success Planning is both a school-based and broader community-wide strategy that incorporates key practices of codified frameworks rather than employing a standalone approach to student success. This type of approach invites all stakeholders to the table to play a critical role in supporting students to thrive. Through aligning the collective efforts of students, families, educators, community partners, and collaborative bodies, SSP has the potential to expand and transform how we leverage our network of partnerships to better serve children in Hamilton County. As a cross-sector, cradle-to-career strategy, and key driver of collective impact, SSP acts as an overarching strategy that integrates and aligns all pathways of student support.
